Meet our team
Dr Irene and Dr Mark worked together for five years in the homeless Dublin GP services, before Dr Irene founded Strand Medical D3 in July 2025. Dr Mark joined her soon after.
They share the same values and ethos in medicine - providing high quality care to patients, enabled by supportive relationships in the practice team.
Dr Irene McDonnell
Dr Irene is from Limerick. She studied medicine in NUI Galway and moved to Dublin in 2014 to study Sports & Exercise medicine in Trinity College Dublin.
Dr Irene completed the North Dublin City GP training scheme in 2019.
She is passionate about general practice and enjoys the variety of each day in general practice.
She holds special interests in womens health, contraception, musculoskeletal medicine and addiction medicine.
Dr Irene is a trainer on the North Dublin City GP training scheme.
Dr Mark Murphy
Dr Mark lives in Phibsborough with his young family.
He loves all aspects of General Practice and has significant clinical experience since completing the Sligo GP scheme in 2013. He studied medicine in UCD qualifying with first class honours in 2005.
He has a PhD in General Practice and has held several academic and national representative roles with the Irish College of GPs and the Irish Medical Organisation. Mark teaches on the North Dublin GP Training Scheme and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care in Trinity College. Dr Mark also has an interest in healthcare for patients who are homeless.
Dr Andrew Dundas
Dr Andrew is currently in his 4th year of the North Dublin City GP training scheme.
He studied Medicine at NUI Galway (University of Galway) and has experience across a variety of training hospitals and GP practices in Dublin. He has special interests in Men’s Health, Endocrinology, and Minor Surgery.
Dr Judith Bolger
Dr Judith brings a wealth of experience to the practice having worked as a principal GP for over thirty years.`
